The upcoming crime thriller is from the brains of Alan Mak + Felix Chong of the Infernal Affairs/ Overheard franchises, and Aaron Kwok has been nothing but good to terrific last 10 years acting, at worst it is some gratuitous ride of HK cityscape p0rn
I am still watching LoCH 2017, it was solid an adaptation till the mid 20 eps, then stuck in the conundrum even Mr JinYong imo could not create a cohesive progression for our YangKang, in novel too flat out evil. With drama adaptations, the character is required to be within reasons…and attempt the impossible. It is harmless, perhaps too harmless they are making the boy pervie douche OuYang Ke this time around as well, but boy, is he a charismatic fellow, so much fun to watch on screen and off.

Why so PERFECT?!
There are a few C/HK must-see this year in showing. I am shallow, they have my crushes (but some of them should be truly amazing…)
A bloom, falling off the branch, its vibrancy will fade, but it is not an object void of attachments. It will transform into fertile soil of spring, nourishing, nurturing new growths.
Our little Red Flower doesn’t fall far from his Tree. This is a quote of a well-known poem YH’s Mom used as her description at weibo. Circle of life, of a bloom separated, nourishing the mother tree, and all tying to Loverboy’s nick: little red flower, and all the waxing poetic on soil and growth and bloom rounded up nicely in a tweet Loverboy did yesterday (later on that). It is brilliant and adorable and moving me to tears. I’m pulling a very serious big sis face: all you single ladies out there, work on it, grab this dude, not just he’s perfection himself, a bit more security on a smoother MiL conundrum is always nice.
This is just another regular day where the sun rises and our little red flower blooms.
What did I do?!? I’m not worthy. All the glossy C magazines ganged up and decide to cover EVERY ONE of my C pretties. Loverboy in 4 (or 5) Feb issues alone. These are my absolute favorites.

If you have a fond memory of the original Painted Skin, this should do it. I have, so I’m gonna watch it no matter what, like my biggest griping: no respect/adherence to source material whatsoever.
This is ChenKun, ZhouXun, ZhaoWei proving their worth and they r not pulling stops. There is not a shot of them that is not dazzling and mesmerizing. I thought the eye sores will be YangMi and FSF…but I’m wrong, and pleasantly surprised how cute they are in the few seconds.
What draws my eye is this is dripping in gilded gorgeousness!!!! Yoshitaka Amano is the artistic director, and his derelict decadence is a feast for the eyes. One of the reason why the barely decent original movie crept into my heart is the lovely theme song Painted Skin sung by the gifted voice of Jane Zhang. I love how with part deux they aren’t even messing with the new and try to best that impossible feat and just add extravagant strings and orchestral accompaniment to it.
It’s lethal and illegal to have a wet/sexing/eyesexing/angsting ChenKun in all his scenes in the MV, let alone the homoerotic frolicking in a steamy bath by ZX and ZW. We can see every dime spent and from the looks of it, very well spent.

DDay T-1. Tmr, there will be an Occupymookie movemt by a certain crazy6002fanbeast.
So I'm hording pretty nuggets of everything else like a squirrel with her nuts. Painted Skin: The Resurrection trailer is looking so kickass gorgeous, so much better than the campy trying too hard posters. ChenKun+ZhouXun+ZhaoWei are reminding us why they r each C cinema's greatest happening megastar, lest we forget. They r not hinting on the fireworks of most awesome 3way chemistry in the movie proper, they r giving it to us every nanosecond of this 2 min trailer in our very face and our eyes know nth else to do but be held captive…. yet what to do when they share the screen?!?!!??!!??! dilemma dilemma dilemma!!!!
