You have to see this

This is the most mindblowing vid of artwork I’ve seen.  Sand, projector, lightbox and HOW ON EARTH!?!?!?!??!!????????  What boggles my mind most is how one swipes each of the masterpiece off one by one to make the next scene, it feels like a mother killing her own most brilliant beautiful child over and over again and I’m screaming NOOOOOOOO~!!!!!

I’m an In the Mood of Love junkie.  If I have 6 minutes and I need a fix of the heartpain and palpitations I watch this (the deleted spoilerish Angkor Wat scene) on youku, if I can only spare ONE minute 3:40 to 4:40.  It’s the simpliest of yearnings of love not meant to be yet the most complicated of emotions and to express ALL that in all the miniscule perfect nuances.  This is the best minute of acting by Tony and Maggie not to be missed.  I love the movie without it, but as a stand alone clip this is giving me everything I need and want fr the most perfect synergy that is WKW+Tony+Maggie.

One-armed Fangirl

One perfectly functioning hand with 5 fingers and lots of down time at (one) hand, still I can’t enjoy full flowing body and soul experience of blogging mindless silly SPAZZ when I am leaking mindlesssillySPAZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ out of my pores.

Three C movie Must-watch

They are not out yet, but I’ve fangirled them (one of them) for years.

一代宗师 The Grandmaster’s ‘final’ trailer is out and it looks soooo insanely amazing.  If u ever liked anything WKW/Tony Leung, you can’t help but be curious what they can come up with slaving 10 years over.  I’ve just watched a rare recent TVB interview of Tony, he confirmed the rumor he’s fought a few Wing Chun moves with Stephen Chow (who claimed he’s learned kung fu) at dinner, being so immersed in the character.

Hotness of Cactors is off the charts, this post.  You’ve been warned:

YH kissing the mind out of a darn lucky woman in his upcoming TW/C drama.

Lets not forget he’s equally as lovely at the receiving end *I kid, he’s just rehearsing, PD showing him how he should hold the heroine Wang LuoDan’s face before some hot smooches*

My lineup tonight: WarHorse, HardBoiled, City of Sorrow

My dear baby cousin is in town an hr away fr me, she's a dream.

She wants to see War Horse as well, we r waiting for her to see it tonight instead.  I have hankies ready…not for me, but my hubs, who notoriously sobbed out loud watching ANY animal starring movies: Charlotte's Web, Babe, Hachi, Eight Below, and his ultimate favorite sobfest: The Bear.

Over dinner last night, cousin and I did one of our rituals: TonyLeung fangirl spazzfest.  She saw Great Magician in a prescreen before she left for this trip and as I'm a spoilerphobe, she just hinted on the absolute fact I'll be surprised. She flipped through my ancient VCD TVBdramas collection and pulled out It's a Long Way Home/ 家有嬌妻.   It's a lesser known Tony drama, but I'm very very fond of it being harmlessly charming and have 2 sizzling OTPs decades before term was coined.  We were in the middle of the first episode when hubs decided to be a bit more sociable and left his manhole, the conversation meander to the headlines: real HK Infernal Affairs of an undercover cop, who successfully captured 222 triads members and 4 very high ranking bosses over the years, and the cut-throat 'tests' on whether he's still fit for his duties.  One of them was another cop to pretend he's a baddie and find a way to manip undercover cop hero to some place deserted, point a gun to his head and try to rat out if he's an undercover cop.  Hardcore, and yes, that's a serving of HK regular headline for ya.  Hubs burped, the undercover cop must now hide in Iceland.  We go 'huh?!?!??!'  He's like, 'O_0?!  You call yourself fangirls when u can't connect that to Hardboiled?!? You know, the first time he impressed me he's the real deal is Hard Boiled.  He kicked ChowYunFat to the blood curb in that one.'

I'll out myself, I'm the rare HKer who does not care for JohnWoo, and my cousin shares our tiny little 'how!DARE!you!?!' corner. It's a 1992 movie, 20 LONG years ago!  It piqued our interest to investigate how the ladykiller Tony is impressing my hubs alone.  Needless to say we must rewatch tonight.  But since both of us girls r floored by his lovely job in City of Sorrow, we will watch both back to back and compare notes

I sincerely hope War Horse will blow our socks off, because I'm anticipating the 1-2 punch of Tony afterwards with my socks pre-blown.

3 (used to be 2) Cmovies I’m dying to watch

The Great Magician:

IF by some most evil dark magic every sino-actor drops off the earth and I can only keep one,  I'll have a hard time btn Tony Leung and Sean Lau.  Both of them are in this, plus I like PD Derek Yee.  I do not seek out and watch everything Zhou Xun is in, but she's one terrific actress who almost never sell out doing crap.  And I ended up watching everything she's in anyway.  From everything I've seen/heard of, this is an exact replica of Illusionist/The Prestige. Innovative, I highly doubt it, but a fangirl is gonna fangirl!  This will appear on screens across Asia mid Dec, AND it may appear on screens worldwide soon as well.  *crossing fingers*

2. This:

PLEASE, WKW *BEGS*!!!  Enough of it already, just give me GRANDMASTER, whatever cut, scraps on ur editing room floor or toilet!!  I'm going to not stare at the month that is in 2012, the lunar new year week and voodoo it to happen, but I'm not forgetting u leak out this 'tentatively'.  Don't tease, it's been not funny since last year.

and 3……

A Tony Leung afternoon of youtube tripping

Ah TonyTonyTony, you sexiest of the sexiest god/beast/bastard.   There’s no way I’m not watching Grandmaster in Cantonese.  Cantonese is not the sexiest dialect by far, mine sounds like a constant buzzing of quarrels.  Tony’s suave, moody jazz to my ears.

IF it’s up to me, I would have him read every chinese word.  Triple the joy: literature, his perfect Canto, and me tripping somewhere and doing things to him (excuse my filthy little mind)

But I do hate him, and WKW.  These 2 combined is the end of me.  One reminder of their  handiwork, I wanna rewatch my WHOLE collection of WKWxTonyLeung.  I can’t do it, that is on my very urgent dreamlist of things to do on my next himono-onna ‘vacay’.

A fanfantabulous tribute:

It’s really not right to make IpMan this suave, this sexy Tony (+WKW)!!

The Grandmasters

@ , any vacay plans for Cannes next May? 😉

All things r hinting on WKW getting The Grandmasters ready for an outing there, and Tony a shot at Prix d’interprétation masculine.  Gosh I can’t believe his recognition for In the Mood for Love was in 2000!

And thanks for the heads up for the trailer!  It’s glorious!

‘Kung Fu is one stroke horizontal, the other vertical.  Wrong; you lie; right, stand.  Your take?’

Trailer and Tony r widely praised, he conveyed the air of the modest, mild mannered master, sharp, fierce with his kung fu moves. ‘ His last  fist hitting out the title 一代宗師, dominating yet alluring.’ -MingpaoNews

I’ll never be a fan of Donnie Yen’s acting, he’s improved tonnes to serviceable, but still you see the ever presence self-awareness.  More posing than digger deeper into the psyche of the character.  Tony, of course, convinced me in 1 min of preview Donnie tried passably in a movie long.  I’m fine with IpMan, it is what it is, a conventionally good kung fu action blockbuster, but it’s not thought provoking.  I’m expecting Grandmasters to give me lots to think about, and this is the least I’m expecting fr WKWxTony.

RIP: Another passing of a Star….and ramblings on Days of Being Wild

Alan Tang, 鄧光榮 has died last night of a heart attack.  The real deal Godfather of HK cinema that’s not into Show like a  certain International Star.  He’s so well loved in his field…and my Mom’s first onscreen crush.

When I watched my share of school idol dramas, Hanadan and their likes, my mom always sneak in a reference to her Student Prince Gen N1 Alan Tang.

He’s good at his studies, he won the role of the student prince in the idol drama of  the Cantonese Wave in the 60s.  But after bursting into great stardom, he continued his schooling, earned his diploma, then became a bona fide teenage dreamboy.

A clip of his very first movie, Student Prince

It’s an eerie coincidence when I’m jumping up and down reading a Mingpaonews Weekly article on the 20th anni remastered Days of Being Wild and its precious, unseen before bts and its rumored part2. WKW, u slyslysly fox, u have enough footage shot of a part2 and u’ve kept it fr me for TWENTY YEARS!! u bastard!  The article also has the last tidbits of the last day in Leslie’s life.  April fools is coming up, but I can never have a good old laugh without remember him since 8 years ago.  I’m sure more than half of HK is with me, united we mourn, still.

The coincidence is Mr. Alan Tang, by the time WKW was starting his PD career late 80s early 90s, was very involved in funding films and working backstage in greenlighting HK movies, he financed As Tears Go By and make WKW a name and street cred to do what he did with Days of Being Wild and THAT collection of HK moviestars at their peak.  Mr Tang financed that as well, in the ballpark of 40 million HKD of his OWN $.  DoBW bombed at the box office, but I’m forever grateful, as it stands it’s on my all time best HK movie list, and it has my favorite Leslie character.

God Speed Mr Tang, RIP.  You will be fondly remembered.
